The Spangled/Mottled Orpington is a beautiful bird that carries the mottling gene like the Jubilee. These are very large birds and are my new favorites of the Orpington colors. If you look closely at coloring you will notice there are two shades of black on the same feather. You have the black that shimmers dark green which is your base color, then the dull black like found on the Jubilee and then the white which is a lack of pigment on the tip of the feather. Absolutely beautiful. Pictures are courtesy of Chicken Ridge Farms whom I got my breeders from. They got their birds directly from Autumn Farm Orpingtons. These birds are true spangled/mottled and are spangled to spangled breeding.
